Why visit Dubrovnik?
Dubrovnik is one of the most recognisable cities on the Mediterranean and a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1979. Located at the far south of Croatia, the city is surrounded by powerful stone walls from the 13th and 14th centuries that stretch for almost two kilometres. The old city centre, known as the Old Town, is entirely preserved and offers a unique blend of Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque architecture. Dubrovnik is also known as the "Pearl of the Adriatic" and attracts millions of visitors from around the world every year.
Horizonti Travel organises private transfers from Zagreb and Velika Gorica to Dubrovnik. Due to the distance of around 600 kilometres, this destination is ideal for a multi-day stay. Your driver picks you up at an agreed location and takes you directly to your accommodation in Dubrovnik, without transfers or waiting at bus or train stations.

Dubrovnik's city walls are among the best-preserved fortifications in Europe. The 1.9 km walk along the walls offers panoramic views of the Old Town, the Adriatic Sea and surrounding islands.

Stradun
Stradun is the main street of the Old Town, 300 metres long and paved with gleaming limestone. It runs from the Pile Gate to the Ploče Gate and is flanked by churches, palaces and cafés.

Fort Lovrijenac
Fort Lovrijenac stands on a 37-metre high rock outside the city walls and offers a spectacular view of the Old Town and the sea. It is also known as the "Gibraltar of Dubrovnik".

Cable Car to Mount Srđ
The cable car runs from the edge of the Old Town to the top of Mount Srđ at 412 metres above sea level. From the top there are views of all of Dubrovnik, the Elaphiti Islands and the Dalmatian coast.
Practical Information for Visiting Dubrovnik
Dubrovnik is the most visited city in Croatia, especially in the summer months from June to August when crowds are extreme. We recommend visiting in spring (April, May) or early autumn (September, October) when temperatures are pleasant and there are significantly fewer tourists. Entry to the Old Town is free, but the wall walk is charged. Parking near the Old Town is limited and expensive, which is another reason why private transport is more practical than arriving by car.
