Transport to Hungary

Budapest is divided into Buda and Pest by the Danube river. The Parliament building, one of the largest in the world, Buda Castle, Fisherman's Bastion, Chain Bridge and the Széchenyi and Gellért thermal baths are just some of the attractions. From Zagreb to Budapest is about 3.5 hours.

Buda Castle and Fisherman's Bastion are located on Castle Hill overlooking the Danube and Pest. Fisherman's Bastion with its Neo-Romanesque towers offers one of the most beautiful views of Budapest, especially at night. Both sites are part of the UNESCO heritage.

Pécs is one of the oldest cities in Hungary, with Roman heritage and Ottoman architecture. The Mosque of Gazi Kasim Pasha, converted into a church, is one of the best-preserved Ottoman buildings in Europe outside Turkey. From Zagreb to Pécs is about 3 hours.

Lake Balaton is the largest lake in Central Europe, with a surface area of 592 km². The lake shore is full of resorts, vineyards and thermal baths. Keszthely, Balatonfüred and Tihany are the most visited places on the lake. From Zagreb to Lake Balaton is about 3 hours.

Széchenyi Baths in Budapest is one of the largest thermal baths in Europe, with 18 pools in a Neo-Baroque building from 1913. Thermal water at 74-76°C comes from springs 1,246 metres deep. A visit to the baths combines excellently with sightseeing in Budapest.
